Minolta AF 50mm 2.8 Macro Review
The Minolta AF 50mm 2.8 is the worlds first autofocus macro lens for all Minolta Dynax and Sony Alpha cameras. Used on a Sony Alpha 35 it has image stabilzation and for this age a fast auto focus. The rebranded Sony 50mm 2.8 shares the same optics.
Although the Minolta has a plastic exterior, the mount and focus ring are made of metal
Furthermore this full-frame lens can be used for 35mm film and fullframe digital. It works on an APS-C camera as well
The Lens weighs 310g and uses a 55mm filter thread, which does not rotate.
I bought it for 130 Euro on ebay and I am very impressed by its optical quality. Here you have some handhelded unedited test shots!
All in all I can recommend this lens for any Minolta or Sony user, who has a small budget like me ;)
